In the semiconductor industry, the move-in process for precision equipment is a critical step in ensuring the smooth construction and operation of production lines. With global certification for the move-in of high-end lithography systems and triple-system certification, Yukang Mobility applies a dual standard of ‘German rigour and American efficiency’ to provide clients with industry-leading move-in services, having accumulated extensive expertise in this field. Below are the key considerations for our semiconductor equipment move-in operations.
I. Preliminary Preparations
1.Detailed Planning and Design
Through thorough communication with clients and relevant parties, Yukang Mobility ascertains equipment specifications, dimensions, weights and other parameters, as well as the requirements of the installation site. Based on this information, a detailed move-in SOP is formulated, covering preparatory work, equipment positioning, handling routes, scheduling and personnel allocation. For large and heavy equipment, the structural load-bearing capacity of the facility must be considered, with reinforcement carried out where necessary to ensure safety.
2.Equipment Packaging Inspection
Yukang Mobility inspects the equipment packaging to ensure it is intact and undamaged, and verifies that the packaging materials meet the requirements for transport and handling. For equipment requiring special protection—such as moisture-proofing, shock-proofing or dust-proofing—appropriate protective measures are confirmed to be in place. Yukang Mobility cross-checks the equipment list to confirm that all equipment and accessories are complete, thereby preventing loss or damage during the handling process.
3.Personnel and Equipment Preparation
Yukang Mobility assembles a professional relocation team comprising experienced engineers, porters and safety officers. Team members undergo detailed training to familiarise themselves with the move-in procedures and safety protocols. Necessary handling equipment and tools, such as forklifts, cranes and hydraulic platforms, are prepared, and these are inspected and maintained to ensure they are in good working order.
I. Move-in Precautions
1.Safety First
Throughout the relocation process, Yukang Mobility prioritises safety above all else. Handling personnel are provided with essential personal protective equipment, such as safety helmets, gloves and safety goggles, to prevent workplace accidents.
Operations are conducted in strict accordance with equipment handling instructions and safety operating procedures to avoid non-compliant practices. For large and heavy equipment, appropriate handling equipment and lifting tools must be used, ensuring the stability and safety of the lifting operation. Prominent safety warning signs must be placed at the site to alert those in the vicinity to potential hazards. A designated person must be appointed to oversee safety on-site, promptly identifying and addressing any safety risks. Since 2017, Yukang Mobility has consistently adhered to its service philosophy of ‘zero accidents, zero incidents’ and has never experienced any accidents.
2.Equipment Protection
During the handling and installation process, care must be taken to protect the equipment and prevent damage such as collisions, scratches or crushing. Special protective measures must be taken for vulnerable components and critical parts of the equipment, such as wrapping and shielding them with foam, air cushions or protective covers. For equipment requiring installation in a clean environment, cleanroom preparation and maintenance must be carried out in advance to ensure the equipment remains uncontaminated during installation.
For precision equipment and equipment with vibration requirements, air cushion transport is employed. Yukang Mobility has been certified by ASML, the global leader in lithography systems, and possesses extensive experience in ASML equipment move-ins. Notably, Yukang Mobility has independently managed the move-in of all mainland China’s ASML DUV models, including the most advanced NXT2100. In recent years, Yukang Mobility has completed the relocation of over 200 ASML lithography systems.
As a global one-stop comprehensive service provider for high-tech equipment, Yukang Mobility offers clients full-spectrum, high-quality move-in services, ensuring the safe, precise and efficient installation of equipment to support the high-quality development of the semiconductor industry.
